Forward-deployed engineers do the least glamorous work in AI: making a demo survive contact with a real company's data, security review and budget.

FDE Notes runs two things side by side. One is a daily-updated index of forward-deployed, deployment, solutions and applied-AI engineering roles, kept with the pay ranges employers actually publish and a link to the posting each figure came from — its figures, method and source mix are published free at /data/. The other is that same dataset sold as rows to teams who need it in a file rather than a page. Alongside both sits a smaller index of deployment, RAG, agent and LLMOps tooling, with field notes on how those systems actually get landed.

Who this is for

Two audiences. Engineers and technical leads shipping LLM systems into production, who want the roles and the pay ranges employers published. And recruiting, compensation and research teams who need that same data normalised, versioned and handed over as a file they can join against their own.

How it is built

1. Crawlers pull new repositories and articles from public sources every few hours.
2. A model filters, categorises and writes a short entry for each item, in several languages.
3. A static site is regenerated and deployed — no database, no tracking pixels beyond analytics.
4. Errors reported by readers are corrected in the source data and never reappear.

Editorial stance

We do not accept payment for inclusion. Ranking inside a category is by recency and source quality, not by commission rate. Sponsored placements, if we ever run them, are labelled as such.
